Description

Our client is looking for an individual to complete a two month contract as an AP Supervisor. This position ensures that our clients’ Accounts Payable group provides excellent service to internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring the systems, processes and internal controls reflect best practice for our industry.  If this is a position you feel you could excel at, please apply below.  

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide mentorship, work direction and technical leadership to accounts payable staff
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to vendor payment
  • Maintain effective communication with field and head office personnel to ensure cut off deadlines are achieved and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Answer queries regarding powervision and qbyte
  • Oversee Canadian dollar payment processing for international business units
  • Prepare and complete assigned account reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls related to the Accounts Payable cycle and ensure internal controls reflect best practice, are kept current and are effectively communicated
  • Leverage technology and intelligent processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Process and review accounts payable invoices and employee expense reports
  • Process annual property tax, ERCB admin fee, and orphan well levy invoices
  • Ensure vendors are WCB compliant
  • Special projects as assigned

Candidate Qualifications 
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting or Business is preferred
  • Five to 10 years of related oil and gas accounting experience
  • At least five years of applicable leadership experience
  • Expert-level familiarity with accounts payable cycle best practices and internal controls
  • Knowledge of the QByte accounting system and/or Powervision invoice workflow system would be an asset
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel skills (filters, pivot tables, lookups etc.) with prior experience leveraging these skills to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Desire and ability to assess current technologies to maximize efficiencies
  • Prudent judgment and independent problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
