Description

Our Calgary Oil & Gas client is seeking a Business Analyst, Enterprise Planning & Performance Management, with a passion for delivering technology solutions that meet business outcomes. In this role, you will be developing the target state for budgeting and planning cycles in 2020 which will drive the technology solution implementation. This is a 6 month, full time contract position with a possibility for extension. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Work directly with stakeholders to deliver to business outcomes – target outcome is to develop business processes and supporting solutions to enable business clients to understand liquidity position and conduct cash forecasting with a priority on outlook
  • Vendor qualification and selection
  • Facilitate process workshops to conduct requirements gathering then trace requirements through design, testing and final outcome
  • Support detailed cutover planning
  • Solicit project requirements from a variety of stakeholders
  • Map system dependencies, process flows, and the creation of prototype procedures
  • Develop business cases
  • Conduct cost benefit analysis work with business groups including EPC, Gas Operations and Health and Safety with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Deconstruct large data sets into meaningful analysis
  • Leads groups and presentations

Candidate Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma 
  • Over seven years of experience in a business analyst capacity
  • Over five years of experience within IT departments for large publicly trade oil and gas organizations
  • Strong understanding of the Oil & Gas industry with specific experience working with business groups in EPC, Gas Operations, Health & Safety
  • Above average skills in data modeling tools, such as Viso, MS Excel etc
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to handle a number of simultaneous priorities while demonstrating urgency and ownership to support project objectives
  • Logical with strong problem solving skills
  • Able to communicate clearly and explain technical terms to a non-technical audience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exposure to large-scale systems
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, motivating and supervising team members and contractors
  • Some travel may be required
