Our client in SE Calgary, is looking for an HR business Partner to come on board and help with supporting the day to day functions of the HR department, implementing and communicating HR strategies and objectives.  The successful candidate will also provide guidance and support to all HR programs in this large, multi-site, with non- unionized and unionized client groups.  If you think you are ready to take on this new and exciting challenge, please apply below.

Job Responsibilities 
  • Provide HR strategies, services and programs in organizational development, employee and labour relations, recruitment, orientation and retention, performance management, training and development, health and safety, compensation and benefits and administration of HR files
  • Establish a strong labour relationship with the members of the union by delivering quality and timely service
  • Promote compliance with HR policies and procedures to all levels of the organization
  • Execute annual HR programs and processes in the areas of attraction, compensation, performance management, and employee development
  • Coach and advise all levels of management to ensure legislative compliance in all areas of human resources
  • Support the Health and Safety management in the implementation of policies, practices and procedures and claims management for both occupational and non-occupational claims
  • Provide coaching and support to managers, supervisors and associates regarding all HR policies, H&S compliance, performance management, discipline process, HR programs and services
  • Administration of monthly reports, HR file administration, grievance management, benefits and policy implementation
  • Administration of company benefit plans
  • Develop and support retention initiatives

Candidate Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree/ diploma in Business Management or Human Resources from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent experience
  • CHRP designation completed or working towards
  • A minimum of five years of related work experience in a Human Resources Generalist role in a unionized environment, with at least three years exposure to Health and Safety/ Claims Management
  • Previous experience in manufacturing/ distribution in both unionized and non-unionized environments
  • Excellent conflict resolution and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with all levels of the organization as well as with union representatives and shop stewards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various Alberta Legislation (Employment Standards, Human Rights, Occupational Health & Safety, etc.)
  • Data driven, action and results oriented
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize and finish all assigned tasks
  • Must work well independently as well as in a team in a fast paced environment
