Do you want to work for a global supplier of products and services to the oil and gas industry located in Calgary AB? Reporting to the President, Canada the purpose of the Director ITK is to provide the leadership and vision for our clients Integrated Turnkey Strategy and deliver the means to execute on this vision. A successful candidate will utilize their expert knowledge to set the strategic direction for engineering, procurement, fabrication, site construction, commissioning and start-up, while managing critical relationships with customers, and contractors. Job Responsibilities 

  • Strategically manage all phases of the projects from quotation through construction and close-out, providing leadership on all aspects including; engineering, procurement, fabrication, site construction, commissioning and start-up
  • Organize and lead an effective Business Development Strategy and Department
  • Ensure the scope of the site construction is completely and accurately captured within a full turn key quotation
  • Provide expert advice to engineers and designers ensuring that the fabricated design is correct for efficient constructability during the execution phase
  • Collaboratively partner with both internal and external customers as the key point of contact to ensure projects meet standards for safety, quality, budget, schedule and profitability; achieving project deliverables
  • Strengthen relationships by managing stakeholder expectations and communicating professionally the project status and milestones, ensuring construction activities are aligned with customer requirements and identify opportunities for repeat business
  • Ensure the project adheres to all contractual commitments while managing potential scope changes appropriately
  • Oversee subcontractor negotiations, awarding of contracts and subcontractor deliverables
  • Set the standard and lead with purpose for health, safety and environmental (HSE) on site and ensuring the onsite team complies with the HSE Program
  • Develop and implement strategies and objectives for the development of standardized procedures; provide guidance and mentorship to internal key stakeholders 

Candidate Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering with Professional Engineering Designation
  • Diploma in construction management considered an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other project management designation is considered an asset
  • Broad understanding of design, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning and turnover with in depth knowledge and working capability in project schedule and cost controls
  • Proven ability to lead and assess the progress, performance and quality of work from sales account managers, estimators, engineers, designers, field superintendents and on-site contractors
  • Proven understanding of estimating and project management best practices as well as knowledge of relevant construction codes, standards and practice, including Acts, Regulations and Codes
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a diplomatic negotiation approach and effective conflict resolution skills
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills including the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven commitment to health and safety leadership and efficient operations
  • Strong computer skills, including: SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with Primavera considered an asset
  • Ability and willingness to travel across Canada
