Are you a Project Manager looking for your next opportunity? Our Fort McMurray energy client is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join their team for a one-year contract. The main responsibility for the successful candidate will involve providing project management support for E&U plants brown field projects. Job Responsibilities
  • Understand multi-discipline problem definitions, and requested scopes
  • Responsibilities include developing and implementing scopes, manage schedules and costs, manage KMS MOCs, and execute as per ADEM phases and gated process
  • Coordinate and interface with internal business unit leaders including operations, engineering, and CFT management
  • Responsible for working with CFT reliability/process engineering to ensure timely resolution of technical issues, and technical requests for information to produce quality engineering deliverables
  • Coordinate and interface with BUP execution team member including cost analyst, BUP-Technical, document control,  project control, SCM, construction coordinators, planning, construction contractors, master data, C&C, and QA
  • Provide leadership in the planning, development of engineering, and execution
  • Responsible for providing coordination and resolving issues related to safety, scopes, schedules and costs to support the engineering, procurement and construction activities related to the projects
  • Responsible for updating BUP project manager and business unit leaders, ensuring decisions are communicated and implemented
  • Provide field engineering support
  • Approve contractor time sheets for engineering services
  • Accountable through full project cycle

Candidate Qualifications
  • University degree 
  • Seven+ years’ work experience in a similar role
  • Superior project management skills
  • Experience reading/understanding P&IDs
  • Experience reading/understanding Single line diagrams
  • Understanding of instrumentation, and control equipment
  • High proficiency with MS Office suite of products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively with personnel 
  • Experience in execution of small or sustainable projects in a brownfield environment is a plus
