Job Responsibilities
- Complete Instrumentation engineering work packages for equipment reliability improvements and ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Prepare high quality (technically sound, timely, complete and cost effective etc.) design packages with well-understood scope of work
- Prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications
- Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications
- Provide technical support to operations, maintenance and shutdown organizations
- Participate in risk analysis work activities, develop engineering solutions for various plant issues
- Analyze Instrumentation equipment data & historical failure information to produce equipment end of life strategies and obsolescence plans
- Review equipment test results and advise on the frequency & scope of maintenance activities or if repairs / replacements/equipment upgrades are needed
- Provide technical support for incident investigations
- Make recommendations for the procurement of materials, equipment and services for assigned work
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Must be a Professional Engineer or eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA)
- Minimum 11 years of engineering experience
- Field instrumentation experience is important
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers
- Good communication, collaboration, networking and interpersonal skills
- Strong team player and self-starter
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices
- Ability to utilize sound technical practices/analysis to support recommendations, and solve complex technical problems with limited supervision
