Description

Our client, a large O&G company, is seeking an experienced and driven Project Engineer on a 6 month contract to provide support to their Project Development Division. This role is based in Calgary. If you are looking for a new opportunity and have the experience outlined below, please apply today!

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight on all technical/engineering aspects of projects in order to monitor project scope, cost, quality and schedule
  • Support the integrated project team on the assigned projects in achieving overall project goals and objectives
  • Ensure the project adheres to the required industry codes, company specs, standards, and guidelines
  • Work with broad team of professionals and field specialists (engineers, maintenance personnel, field technicians, network analysts, and plant operators) to resolve project issues.
  • Front End Engineering Design (FEED), including cost and schedule estimates.
  • Communicate with senior leadership to socialize concepts and gain alignment for decisions in support of business strategies
  • Translate and implement company’s project development process throughout the business.
  • Analyze options, build, and ultimately complete concept selection and design, ensuring partner alignment throughout the projects
  • Develop inputs to the long-range capital plan and annual budget, and support related planning and stewardship processes.

Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering 
  • Professional Engineer or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the province of Alberta
  • Minimum 11 years of experience on FEED/Detail Engineering for complex projects
  • Experience related to project execution/construction considered an asset
  • Experience on Tailings and/or Upgrader/Refinery based capital projects considered an asset
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum level of supervision required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and interact with diverse teams
  • Excellent analytical problem solving capabilities and keen ability for quality decision making
  • Ability to effectively facilitate collaborative meetings with process, maintenance and technical personnel
