Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data for Canada, USA using Ceridian PowerPay (CAN), and Ceridian Redwood (US), to produce accurate and timely payrolls. Ensures compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws
  • Act as a liaison for the UK payroll agent to analyze, update and reconcile monthly payrolls
  • Assist the Global Payroll Team Lead with additional international payroll as needed
  • Stays current on payroll systems and resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives
  • Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support
  • Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management
  • Complete and maintain legislated payroll reporting requirements
  • Prepare and maintain employee reports and new-hire reports
  • Administrator for our Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
  • Assist with general HR tasks as required

 

Candidate Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field, preferably Business/Accounting
  • PCP, or working towards certification is a must
  • Over five years in a similar Payroll Administrator, Payroll or Senior Payroll Coordinator position
  • Exceptional understanding of accounting concepts relating to payroll and benefits
  • Exposure and understanding of applicable Canadian and US payroll laws and regulations
  • Exposure and understanding of applicable global payroll laws and regulations, an asset
  • Exposure to Ceridian PowerPay (CAN) and Ceridian Redwood (US), an asset
  • Strong command of the English language; clear written and verbal communication skills
