Description

Our client, a large energy company in downtown Calgary, is looking to add an experienced Instructional Designer to join their team for a long term contract. If you have experience crafting and delivering training solutions and have solid project management skills, please apply below!

Job Description
  • Identify instructional design strategies and learning methodologies 
  • Use instructional design, learning theories and appropriate technologies to improve learning transfer and engage learners
  • Consult in the implementation of on-the-job learning solutions
  • Educate in matters of instructional design and performance improvement
  • Assess and interpret the needs and requirements of the learning and capability development team
  • Facilitate design sessions with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams
  • Support the development of documentation for implementing new instructional design strategies and learning methodologies
  • Stay informed of trends in learning design and provide instructional design feedback
  • Identify solutions to non-standard requests or problems and help translate concepts into practice

Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Arts or Science in a relevant field 
  • 8-10 years of work experience with proven career progression in Instructional Design
  • Significant experience in designing and delivering training solutions in large organizations
  • Instructional design expertise in a variety of methods within a corporate bi-lingual environment, including e-learning/web based and instructor based training
  • E-learning experience with Adobe suite with a strong focus on Captivate, Lectora, Adobe Presenter, Articulate Storyline, Madcap Flare or similar software applications 
  • Experience working with learning management systems, SuccessFactors is preferred
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theories
  • Strong customer orientation and interpersonal business skills 
  • Superior organizational skills, along with high attention to detail 
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
