Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the competitive bid process for materials and services including developing competitive bid documents, managing the bid process to ensure fairness and compliance, evaluating bids and making recommendations
  • Create, negotiate and manage contracts in order to effectively manage our Client’s risk. Manage contract changes, amendments and dispute resolution
  • Create and manage purchase orders making sure that commitments are met and issues are resolved
  • Participate in the development of sourcing strategies to align with our client’s strategic goals and objectives
  • Ensure successful supplier relationships including the identification and development of key suppliers
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives

Candidate Qualifications

  • University degree or College diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or other related disciplines
  • Certifications such as Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) preferred
  • Minimum of five or more years related experience, seven or more years preferred
  • Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities
  • Procurement experience with corporate information technology services, systems and application an asset
  • Background in electrical utilities industry an asset
  • Understanding of legal terms and conditions
  • Strong computer skills including experience with SAP an asset
  • Strong negotiation and decision making skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Results oriented with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks
  • Schedule driven organizational and time management skills
  • Proven track record of good attendance and job performance
