Are you an experienced Contracts Administrator contractor that has a strong industrial background that is ready to hit the ground running on a new opportunity? Our client in Edmonton, a company that provides a range of industrial services and modular construction solutions, is looking for an experienced Contracts Administrator/Specialist to join their team for a four-week contract. This position provides a flexible 25 hour work week. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing contract management and financial advice throughout the lifecycle of the project.  If you have experience in contracts administration and are analytical and detail oriented this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for.  

Job Responsibilities 
  • Procure and appraise quotes from potential subcontractors
  • Conduct negotiations of commercial terms and conditions 
  • Administer the execution of the subcontract to ensure compliance
  • Assess and check accuracy and process subcontract progress payments
  • Interact with other departments to ensure compliance with terms and amendments
  • Prepare draft notice correspondence where non-compliance with the subcontract is observed
  • Manage subcontract claims with the Manager of Supply Chain and the Project Manager along with other stakeholders
  • Conduct final account review and process back charges
  • Ensure all documentation is received, deficiencies are taken care of and subcontracts are closed out
  • Responsible for providing claims identification, development and presentation and to support the project team 
  • Work with the project controls team to investigate causes of delays and loss/expense and the construction of recovery strategies and plans leading to appropriate compensation

Candidate Qualifications 
  • Degree in a related field, SCM related professional designation such as SCMP is preferred
  • Five+ years of experience in contract administration
  • Experience in an industrial setting, ideally project experience
  • Understanding of Project Management processes
  • Understanding of the various construction contract models that may include lump sum, reimbursable, time and materials and others
  • Knowledge of contracts and ensure compliance to the agreed terms and conditions 
  • Commercial, cost control, risk management and contract requirements awareness
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Detail oriented with a very analytical mindset
  • Excellent organization, documentation and planning skills
  • Advanced planning and communication skills
  • Class 5 Drivers License with clean drivers abstract
  • Ability to work within a team and independently within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Great Plains ERP system would be an asset
