Our client in Winnipeg is seeking a Vice President Architecture & Engineering  to join their team on a permanent basis, full time basis.  This position will oversee a growing professional practice covering all architecture and engineering scopes, consultant management, and staff management. Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all project team efforts to facilitate effective execution of design and the delivery of construction documents
  • Establish constructible standard construction details to implement and repeat on future projects
  • Manage and mentor staff resources and coordinate work activities of the Architecture & Engineering departments
  • Coordinate and supervise multi discipline constructability reviews and meetings for all drawings prior to their release to teams to ensure completeness, ease of on-site construction, and high-quality standards are achieved
  • Develop and control project specifications to be used on future projects
  • Establish and control drawings and specifications to ensure consistency and clear language and scope on projects
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop cost and schedule effective designs
  • Supervise project team and review staff project performance on a regular basis 
  • Prepare and/or review specifications for projects at each phase of delivery
  • Review completed implementation documents at key phases/intervals for accuracy and completeness

Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Engineering or Masters of Architecture
  • Seven+  years of leadership experience in engineering and/or architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of architecture and engineering principles and best practices and construction specifications and plans
  • Advanced knowledge of building codes and material design standards
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, lead, develop and motivate others through mentoring and coaching 
  • Strong computer skills in programs such as MS Office and MS Project)
  • Superior organizational, planning, analytical, problem solving, decision-making, presentation and communication skills are essential
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage competing demands
  • Able to influence, lead, motivate and develop others through coaching and mentoring
  • Collaborative, team player with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
