Description

Our client, a large Oil & Gas company in Edson, is currently looking for a Production Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical oversight, mentoring, and establishing best practices related to the asset’s production engineering activities. Job Description

Resolve, direct activities, and ensure technical quality for highly complex technical
Assess production bottlenecks, propose solutions and implement
Validate and reconcile production systems data, ensuring information complies with PMS standards
Monitor and validate that loss information is contained in the system and defined according to guidelines
Propose a mitigation plan based on asset resources and in collaboration with other disciplines
Prepare and implement a well integrity plan including well inspection, monitoring, data analysis and corrective actions
Define, design and supervise the appropriate and economic rig/rigless intervention methods for producer/injector well(s) servicing for monitoring, optimization and workover
Advise and monitor actions in order to guarantee the flow from the sand face to the primary separation
Conduct periodic analysis, diagnosis and troubleshooting of production and injection wells to identify bottlenecking, causes of deferral or integrity issues that may impact the asset life cycle
Define the action plan for critical elements of the Production Engineering mandate
Periodically review operational processes to optimize operational costs and improve Safety and Environment aspects
Identify, evaluate and propose innovative Production Technology strategies to improve well performance and asset profitability

Candidate Qualifications

10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, focused in Production Engineering
Active APEGA registration
PETEX suite knowledge for Integrated production modeling (PVT-P, MBAL, Propser, GAP)
Experience with Energy Components, PVR, iwit
Familiarity with discounted cash flow analysis and economic metrics (DPI, NPV, ROR etc.)
Flow Assurance knowledge
Data management skills
Strong leadership and mentoring capability, willing to share knowledge, train and coach other team members
able to influence without formal authority, working with minimal supervision
Analytical mindset with a focus on troubleshooting, creative problem-solving and continuous improvement
Active learner, engaged in the industry and knowledgeable about new technology and best practice
