Are you an experienced Finance Manager looking for their next opportunity?  Our Calgary client is looking for a Finance Manager to come on board on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Finance Director and Vice President by ensuring coordinated delivery of all financial and performance management information. If you have a strong understanding of all aspects of finance and how it affects the business, this may be the role you have been waiting for. 

Job Description
  • Produce annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Oversee timely and accurate production of month end reporting 
  • Responsible for half year and year end group reporting , along with year-end statutory reporting
  • Main contact for the audit,  and liaise with the tax department for the corporation tax requirements and managing the process of preparing the statutory accounts
  • Ensure the team compile, analyse and report financial information 
  • Production of management information within the finance team which would enable the business leaders to make informed business and strategic choices
  • Provide management, guidance and mentorship to finance team with the aim of ensuring that the day to day financial operations operate effectively and efficiently.
  • Manage the team to ensure they are fulfilling internal audit/control requirements through review, data collection, testing and documentation of findings
  • Involvement in the ongoing improvement of Salesforce CRM system and the integration of the new finance system – financial force.
  • Manage accounts receivables and accounts payables 
  • Prepare business plans and monitor performance against them
  • Management of a team of five staff

Candidate Qualifications

  • Five+ years of related accounting experience, plus an Accounting designation, CPA, CA preferred, CGA, CFA, CMA may be considered
  • Minimum of three years of management experience
  • Commercially focused with commercial finance experience
  • Familiar with CRM software such as Salesforce would be considered an asset
  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements
  • Knowledge of the statutory requirements for financial reporting
  • Strong analytical skills; advanced level of MS Excel is required
  • Proven track record in developing, cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with senior business leaders that enables open and collaborative communication
  • Able to multi-task and manage changing workloads and priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Excellent organizational skills, along with high attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
