BOWEN is looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Vice President Finance, the successful candidate will be a demonstrated team player with strong technical skills, an understanding of ERP systems and a drive for continuous improvement.  You will have a proven track record for delivering consistent results and a sound understanding of how to add value, coordinate with other departments and successfully manage a productive team. This is a varied role as you will balance the management of day to day operations, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparations, and employee performance management while fostering a great work environment consistent with company values.  If this is something you are interested in please apply below.

Job Responsibilities

Accounting Team
  • Manage and develop the accounting team
  • Supervise and lead a team of 3 – 4 people
  • Responsible for full cycle accounting and reporting
  • Responsible for year-end close and annual audits
  • Budgeting & forecasting
  • Bank & treasury
  • Accounts payable
  • Billing
  • Collections

Finance Services
  • Government remittances
  • Support the organization to remain compliant in all provinces & territories
  • Become a subject matter expert in Great Plains & erecruit
  • Continuous improvement of BOWEN’s policies, procedures and culture

Candidate Qualifications
  • CPA designation
  • Five+ years of progressive experience in full cycle accounting environment with a small to mid-size business
  • Supervisory experience
  • Great Plains experience would be considered asset
  • Jet Reporting & BI experience would be considered an asset
  • Strong analytical skills along with advanced level of MS Excel 
  • Excellent organizational skills, along with high attention to detail
  • Professional presence with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of organization
  • Able to multi-task and manage changing workloads and priorities
  • Exceptional customer service skills
