Our client in Calgary is looking for an experienced Safety, Environment & Compliance Manager to join their team on a permanent, fulltime basis. The successful candidate will ensure that the requirements of the Safety Program are implemented and maintained throughout the corporation. Job Responsibilities 
  • Administration of safety program
  • Develop company safety rules and regulations
  • Assist in accident investigations, analysis and preparation of accident reports and summaries
  • Ensure that safety reports are submitted as required
  • Develop and maintain a safety equipment purchase program
  • Design, give and assist safety seminars or training
  • Ensure proper management of the company’s WCB claims program
  • Ensure that company safety and maintenance records are properly maintained, and concerns communicated to all levels of management and the safety committee
  • Ensure all established safety policies are administered and enforced
  • Provide ongoing safety education programs and approved first aid training courses as required
  • Review and make recommendations of all safety inspections and accident investigations
  • Review monthly and annual safety records and statistics
  • Establish annual health and safety goals and objectives
  • Communicate safety messages to the workplace

Candidate Qualifications 
  • Minimum five experience years’ experience in similar role
  • Experience working in a COR certified environment and familiar with audit processes
  • Experience completing safety reporting activities
  • Familiar with OH&S code within manufacturing facilities
  • Experience leading and motivating employees
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio
  • Strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, able to set priorities
  • Strong inter-personal and indirect influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence of individuals at various organizational levels
  • Able to lift parts and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Successful completion of a Fit for Work Exam required
