Do you have strong Human Resources experience in a unionized environment? Our client is looking for a Recruitment and Training Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.   The successful candidate will provide leadership of all aspects of recruitment, training and organizational development. Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with managers to enable a free-flow of information as to what is successful in recruitment and training and what needs to be changed
  • Provide information and advice to management regarding the application of the collective agreement for recruitment and training
  • Develop and administer a budget for recruitment, training and development and organizational development 
  • Identify, evaluate and coordinate delivery of external training programs 
  • Review and update existing training programs to ensure they align with the overall corporate objectives
  • Management career planning, performance management and retention initiatives
  • Oversee the Education Assistance program
  • Prepare succession planning information and support the ongoing executive and succession planning process
  • Develop retention initiatives using tools such as engagement survey results and career development questionnaires
  • Implement ongoing recruitment best practices providing a leadership role in attracting and retaining talent
  • Provide ongoing support and feedback including yearly performance reviews and development action plans
  • Oversee the HR systems and platforms to ensure interconnectivity, and efficiencies are reached while ensuring that systems are user friendly
  • Provide leadership in the areas of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment and Food Safety 
  • Participate in HSE activities, ensuring employees are knowledgeable about and comply with HSE and Food Safety policies, procedures and legislation, assist in identifying unhealthy and unsafe situations 

Candidate Qualifications
  • Related post-secondary diploma 
  • Seven years senior HR experience
  • HR experience in the areas of recruitment and training in a unionized environment
  • Five years of team leadership experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Highly developed team building, influential and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to enlist support from management
  • Exceptional communication, organization, mediation, negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Excellent people and customer service skills 
  • CHRP designation would be an asset
