Description

Our client in Calgary is seeking an experienced IT Programmer Analyst to join their team for on a full time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full support and development of software applications.  If you have SQL and .net certification and are looking for your next opportunity, this may be the job you have been waiting for.

Job Responsibilities 
  • Maintain the company’s Oil Movement Manager applications, along with other custom application and data interfaces  
  • Maintenance activities for application server environments  
  • Create system and applications architecture, application design and  technical requirements
  • Develop and test enhancements
  • Create advanced technical solutions using Microsoft Azure Cloud Development platform
  • Work with the team to create and formalize the company’s software development life cycle, architectural design & development framework, and in-house coding standards 
  • Assist in problem analysis and issue resolution
  • Create and maintain documentation for the software development life cycle processes, technical architecture, and technical support for applications 
  • Ensure proper disaster recovery protocols and back up plans are in place and followed
  • Provide training and guidance to other team members

Candidate Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related IT discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Programmer Analyst/Developer 
  • Experience in a corporate oil & gas or midstream business environment would be asset
  • Strong technical analysis skills, verbal/written communications skills, interpersonal skills, facilitation skills, and client relationship skills 
  • Certification in .net (C#), SQL Server, Java and TomCat
  • Oracle DBA Certification would be an asset
  • Experience in developing MVC applications 
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure virtual environments, Microsoft’s Entity Framework, Microsoft Reporting Services, Microsoft Integration Services
  • Domain experience  in the Midstream Pipeline business with oil movement and ticketing systems knowledge
  • Comfortable working in a high performing, dynamic team environment 
  • Travel to field offices may be required
