Are you a go getter with strong leadership skills? Our client in Kelowna looking for a General Manager on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will provide leadership and coordination to all staff and facilitate the smooth operations of the clinic.  If you have superior leadership skills and enjoy working in a busy, collaborative environment, this may be the position you have been waiting for.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with reception staff to ensure clinic standards are being met with regards to appointment scheduling, prompt client service on arrival and leaving and diffusing client issues/seeking help when needed 
  • Help to build the reception staff schedule and manage reception staff time and attendance 
  • Provide orientation and training of new reception staff and ongoing internal training 
  • Conduct performance discussion sessions with reception staff, perform formal annual performance reviews, probationary performance discussions and performance correction discussions when necessary
  • Lead and/or support recruitment activities including seeking grants, creating job postings, screening applicants, scheduling & conducting interviews, reference checking, and offer letter/contract preparation as well as onboarding and off boarding
  • Ensure staff files are complete, up-to-date and securely maintained
  • Organize clinic staff meetings including scheduling, agenda preparation, minutes, and keeping an action item log and ensuring follow-up
  • Complete month end processing of credit card payments and assist with accounts receivables
  • Participate in the budgeting process, monitoring profitability and adjust as required
  • Oversee the clinic’s insurances for malpractice, equipment and owner


Candidate Qualifications 
  • Business degree or diploma 
  • Three years + of managing a busy office, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years + of supervisory experience of other administrative staff
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Good understanding of veterinary terminology as well as an affinity for small and large animals
  • Highly organized and self-confident 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to teach, train and inspire high morale
  • Comfortable and calm in an ever-changing environment
  • Strong leadership skills, and able to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Customer service focused
