Our client in Calgary is looking to add a Director of Development to their team on a permanent fulltime basis.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the sourcing, developing, packaging and implementing residential multifamily, commercial projects.  This position will also be responsible for the sound completion of projects through the project management team.  If this sounds like something you would be interested in please apply today!

Job Description
  • Leverage a strong professional and personal network to identify potential land opportunities for either redevelopment or fresh development
  • Collaborate with the internal team and or consultant partners to develop project concepts for candidate land opportunities including analysis of the market opportunity, competition, target audience etc.
  • Lead collaboration with the finance and sales teams to assemble the financial rationale and deal package for each project
  • Present to and work with financial partners and investors
  • Work with Sales team and external consultants to develop marketing and sales approach for each project working including the development of project renderings
  • Responsible for carrying the vision of each project through execution and completion
  • Manage the Project Management team to ensure that the consultants and GC’s collaborate to execute the project vision as obstacles come up
  • Work hand in hand with the Sales team to ensure that customer needs are incorporated into the vision and achieve financial goals and commitments
  • Manage the collection of and company reporting on market conditions and consumer information to keep the company informed on industry dynamics
  • Be a key member of the executive team that will set the overall direction of the company and be broadly accountable for company performance, team morale, and upholding company values

Candidate Qualifications
  • 10 + years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Drive for success mentality
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and able to work with a team
