Our client in North Vancouver is seeking a Project Manager – Engineer to ensure the production team has the ability to run efficiently while producing top quality products. You will manage the relationship with clients, stakeholders and third party vendors while working with the Operations team to ensure effective product flows and resolve manufacturing issues quickly. If you have hands on project management experience, preferably within a marine or industrial operations environment, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Report and escalate to COO as needed
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency

Candidate Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Five+ years minimum Engineering experience in manufacturing; preferably in a high-volume environment 
  • Five+ years’ Project Management experience, Lean Six Sigma desirable along with PMP designation 
  • Proven working experience in project management preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication and influencing skills
  • Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot production and quality-related issues 
  • Experience providing cost and timeline expectations on new projects
  • Applied knowledge of marine engineering and systems to ensure the functionality of the equipment required for vessels to operate is an asset
  • Experience with engineering practices such as Lean Six Sigma, MSA, GR&R, Value Stream Mapping, FMEA and others are an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational and multitasking skills

  • Strong attention to detail while focusing on the whole project
