Our client Calgary is looking to add an experienced Communication and Grants Specialist to their team on a permanent fulltime basis.  The successful candidate will oversee grant research, presentations and applications as well as develop relationships with community-based groups, to create programs that promote the organization and community mission. Job Description
  • Research and access alternative funding sources through formal and informal presentations and completion of grant applications
  • Coordinate the planning and preparation of grant proposals, provides guidance and assistance in the interpretation of funding regulations and requirements
  • Prepare and compile all components of grant submission, ensuring that the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting agency requirements
  • Work and develop relationships with community-based groups, leaders, and staff to create programs that promote the organization and community mission
  • Support the creation of the Marketing Communications planning, budgeting, and related tactical execution
  • Maintaining communication with vendors and partners, and different suppliers
  • Develop resources that are culturally appropriate and relevant to the Indigenous community
  • Develop and create collateral for effective campaigns utilizing all mediums including social media and community engagement
  • Create a digital/social media strategy and roadmap for launching Rescu into indigenous communities by building impactful campaigns that deliver our social purpose and engaging the community to protect vulnerable youth
  • Develop and create the high-impact content, including articles, webinars, videos and graphics for online COVID support materials
  • Develop unique and specific messaging that acknowledges jurisdiction boundaries, which complicate the existing response

Candidate Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Five to ten years’ experience in Marketing, Communications, or related roles 
  • Experience working with Indigenous Communities in Canada
  • Proficiency in PC environment, with Windows and MS Office literacy
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and good design skills
  • Working knowledge of Wordpress and experience in web content management and social media management (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, others)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proven track record to meet tight deadlines with multiple/changing priorities
  • Dedicated to quality output and highly driven to always find the best way to get the work done
